Institutional responsabilities

  • I'm the representative, i.e., head of the managing board of PCI Network Science.
  • I'm a member of the Direction Committee of IXXI, Lyon's Institute of Complex Systems, since 2019
  • I'm an elected member of the Steering Committee of the French Chapter of the Complex System Society, since 2023
  • I'm an elected member of the Laboratory Council of LIRIS Laboratory, the largest computer science laboratory in Lyon, since 2020
  • I'm in charge of the website and seminars of the Data Mining and Machine Learning Team at LIRIS Lab. I was deputy-head of the team in 2022 and 2023.

I'm also in charge of several lectures:

Note: Some publishers allow to get recognition for reviews done, for instance Elsevier: Reviewer Profile
Or, more recently, via Publons
Note: Accepting to write a review is sometimes a difficult choice: the limit between a "predatory"/"junk" publisher and a new, disruptive journal can be hard to precisely define. Because I'm not satisfied with the current existing system of publication in science, I decided to accept to write reviews for journals I don't know beforehand if: 1)It does not look too fishy, 2)The article is well related to my research, 3)The review process looks professionnal.
The question particularly arises for MDPI journals. My experience is that, for those journals, the reviewing process looks as serious as most journals, and more serious than some. (I'm not talking about submitted article quality, which is a different problem). There are clearly too many of them and their businness model encourages poor quality publications, certainly. But on the peer review process, I have the impression that they are at the same level than many average well established journals.
Lately, I started to receive too many review requests, so I also started to refuse reviewing articles even if they are related to my research if they come from journals I don't have a positive opinion of, in a busy time.
